Handing Over of Medical Equipment to Lindula Hospital
The above event took place at the Lindula Hospital on the 12th August 2014 at 10.00 a.m. with the participation of the Deputy General Manager - Plantations, Senior Managers, Managers, Welfare Staff and Union Leaders of Watawala Plantations PLC estates in the Lindula Region.

Dr. Harsha Abeywardena- DMO, Dr. M.G. Nizamdeen – Asst. DMO, Staff of the Lindula District Hospital and the OIC of the Police Station – Lindula, participated at this event.

The following equipment were handed over to the Lindula District Hospital by Watawala Plantations Plc., with the support received from Messrs. Sunshine Healthcare Lanka Ltd.

Mr. Zhram Marikkar and Mr. Dimuthu Bandara from Sunshine Healthcare Lanka Ltd. participated at this event.

Dr. Harsha Abeytwardena DMO of Lindula District Hospital in his speech stated that the medical equipment was a long felt need of the hospital and in the absence of this equipment, patients from this hospital were referred to either the Nuwara Eliya or the Nawalapitiya Base hospitals situated nearly 20 Kms away separated by a very circuitous road network and hilly terrain. He summed up his speech by stating that they have received "all what they need" to treat their patients. Lindula Hospital caters to a population of more than a 35,000 in the area.

Mr. Alex Samuel – Deputy General Manager- Plantations, Union Leaders of CWC Mr. Soundararajan (Henfold) and UCWF- Mr. Maheswaran (Waltrim), Mrs. Nalini Perera – CDO (Waltrim) also spoke during this ceremony.
